Tilling the Soil

TillingSoilBlog

I have a Gardener who delights in transforming barren, dry, and desolate ground into something beautiful. His work is rooted in love and grace. The soil must be tended, cared for, watered, and pruned. It is in the tilling—turning the earth over for new growth—that true freedom is found.

Before new seeds can be planted, the old must be unearthed. The soil resists this process; it prefers comfort and familiarity. Yet it must be broken up and turned over, exposing the hidden rubble and dead roots beneath the surface so that new life can take hold.

The Gardener works with precision—carefully uncovering, loosening, and removing the old to make room for what is to come. He has done this in me, gently and over time. And He continues to do so.

Though the process is slow, tender, and often painful, it is always guided by love. In the end, it is for my good—and for the glory of the Gardener.
